key sentence to me is this one: “I emptied myself of all my old ideas of what my
life should be.” I sometimes do this daily and probably will for the rest of my
life as I yield to the Lord and what He has planned for my family. I empty
myself of what I think my children’s and grandchildren’s life should be. I am
not God and I don’t have the slightest idea most of the time His perfect will.
His perfect will may be suffering so there is a greater story to tell at the
end. His perfect will may be horrible in my eyes but the valley is where we all
find strength. I empty myself today and then I pray. And pray and pray some
